Newtown Streets

When I first started developing my photography skills and applying them to my artistic expressions, I spent a number of years photographing the lives of people in my then home suburb of Newtown. The following photos were taken using a Leica M6 loaded with black and white film from 2008 - 2012. Although I used this time as a way to learn the entire traditional process of photography from film-processing to prints, for me, it was a way to document the everyday lives of Newtowners and celebrate the beauty of the mundane.
